A Passion for Life

Learning to ride a motorcycle is just one of the driven professional's fearless desires to try new things and challenge herself. "There is so much to do in life," says Shell " I want to see and do it all."

As a youngster growing up in Rhode Island, you would find Shell at the local pond with hockey skates on her feet and a stick in her hand mixing it up with the boys. But it was tennis  and golf that occupied the majority of her free time. Shell was especially competitive in tennis and even went on to play in college.

Staying Off the Sidelines

She still enjoys tennis and plays as often as her schedule permits. And when she’s not on the court, you’re likely to find her on her bike or painting in her studio. But for Shell, the best way to spend her free timeis with her two sons, Christopher and John. Shell is a proud mother and she strives to instill her passion for life in her sons. “I don’t want them to sit on the sidelines,” says Shell. “I want them to get out there and experience life.”

Shell demonstrates this full-throttle approach to life in her professional pursuits as well. After graduating from college she went to one of the most prestigious journalism schools in the world and took an on-air correspondent job at the local ABC affiliate. But Shell quickly found that journalism wasn’t for her. She’d rather be living life than reporting about it. Instead, she went on to a successful career in marketing, eventually becoming the director of advertising for Oakley, Inc.
